QNAP NAS Virtual Switch: Network Configuration
Network setup for QNAP NAS Virtual Switch
In order to configure the network settings for the QNAP NAS Virtual Switch, follow the steps below:
- Access the QTS (QNAP Turbo Station) web interface by entering the NAS IP address into a web browser.
- Click on "Control Panel" and then "Network & File Services".
- Under the "Virtual Switch" tab, click "Create" to create a virtual switch.
- Specify the virtual switch name, VLAN ID, and adapter options:

| VLAN ID | Specify the VLAN ID for the virtual switch (0 for no VLAN). |

Note: The NAS requires at least one physical network adapter to create a virtual switch.
- After configuring the virtual switch, you can assign IP addresses and configure network settings for the virtual machines connected to the virtual switch.
- To assign IP addresses for virtual machines, go to "Virtualization Station" and click on "Virtual Switch".
- Under the "VM Network" tab, click on the virtual switch to assign IP addresses or configure DHCP settings.
- Click "Apply" to save the changes.
