Default username and password for a Synology NAS
The default username and password for a Synology NAS vary depending on the model and firmware version.
For most models running DSM 6.2 or later:

Note: It is highly recommended to change the default password after the initial setup to enhance the security of your Synology NAS.
If you are unable to log in using the default credentials, it may be because the password has been changed during the initial setup or by someone else with access to the NAS. In such cases, you can try the following options:
1. Resetting the password using Synology Assistant
- Download and install Synology Assistant on a computer connected to the same network as your NAS.
- Launch Synology Assistant and let it search for your NAS.
- Right-click on your NAS and select "Install" to launch the setup wizard.
- Follow the instructions on the setup wizard to reset the password.
2. Resetting the password using the physical reset button
- Locate the physical reset button on your Synology NAS.
- With the NAS powered on, use a paperclip or a small pin to press and hold the reset button for about 4 seconds until you hear a beep sound.
- Wait for the NAS to reboot, and then you can log in using the default username and password mentioned above.
Important: Resetting the password using the physical reset button will also reset all the settings on your Synology NAS to their default values. This means that you will lose any custom configurations and data, so make sure to back up any important data before proceeding with this method.
