Changing the admin password on a Synology NAS
To change the admin password on your Synology NAS:
- Access your Synology NAS's web-based interface by entering the IP address of the NAS into a web browser. Ensure that your NAS is connected to the same network as your computer.
- Log in using the current admin username and password.
- Click on the Control Panel icon.
- In the Control Panel, click on the "User" icon.
- Select the "Administrator" user from the list of users.
- Click on the "Edit" button.
- In the "General" tab, enter your new desired password into the "New Password" and "Confirm Password" fields.
- Click on the "Apply" button to save the changes.
It is recommended to use a strong and unique password to ensure the security of your Synology NAS. Ideally, your password should be at least 8 characters long and include a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.
